If it Looks Like a Hat

Lately everything around here that looks like it could fit on someone's head ends up on someone's head. Parker puts just about anything on his head and walks around saying "hat, hat"...

Baby Caleb

The other day Mommy volunteered to watch her friend Stephanie's son Caleb while Steph got her hair done. Parker is good buddies with Caleb's older brother Josh, but hasn't played a lot with Caleb. He was having fun sitting and showing Caleb how to play with his toys...

Until Caleb decided that Parker would be helpful to climb...Parker played by himself after that...

That kid might be in for a rude awakening if/when he ever gets a sibling!

Stickers

What is it about kids and stickers? At least one always ends up on their face...or hands...or body...or the dog...

Daddy's Truck

Parker LOVES to play in Daddy's truck. Especially if he can throw a ball around when he is in there.

Sometimes he just likes to sit and ponder the things of the day...

I know that Parker's Daddy loves that he wants to spend time in the truck - maybe one day he will get to move up front!

Channeling Elton John

It doesn't get much better than Thomas the Tank pjs, a fireman's hat, a beaded necklace with dead chickens on it, and star glasses...where is that piano?

Ketchup

Parker has decided that just about anything is good if you put ketchup on it...
Take Grilled Cheese for example...

Finger-lickin' good...

Family Fun Run

While the weather was still nice Ben and I decided to take a family run out to Geronimo's grave on post. It is about 5 miles round trip so we decided to take a break at our half-way point to let Parker out to play.

Picking up (and throwing) rocks is a favorite pass-time in this stage.

Parker isn't so sure about shoulder rides, it is really high up there - it only took a minute before he was asking for "down".

After running back a ways we stopped at a park so Parker could play some more. First he wanted to swing...

Then Daddy showed him how cool it is on the big boy swings - if you ever want a good workout, hold a toddler while swinging...
All-in-all it was a great family day together enjoying the last of the nice warm weather!

Visit with Ma Pat and Pa Lar!

Parker's Ma Pat and Pa Lar came to Oklahoma for a short visit in October - they can't stay away long! Parker loves it when grandparents come to visit because he gets lots and lots of play time!

Ma Pat loved playing bubbles...

And chalk...(and Parker has such great handwriting already!)

Pa Lar loves to walk across the street to the park. We told him that Parker was a slide pro, but he wanted to help out the first couple of times just in case...

Showing Pa Lar how we hold hands to cross the street...

We even went to a new place for dinner - which is saying a lot in Lawton, OK! We ventured out to the Dry Beaver Supper Club and even had some grilled gator - crazy indeed!

Halloween with My Best Buddy

Parker and his best friend Joselyn (Jo-Jo) loved hanging out on Halloween this year!

They went to the Haunted Trail - not so haunted for the little kids...and they posed in some Pooh character heads...
Parker as Eeyore....

Joselyn as Piglet...

Parker and Joselyn went trick-or-treating together. Parker wore the same costume Mommy made last year. It was way too big last year, but this year it was almost too small! So, this year Joselyn was a fairy and Parker was the guessing costume - some thought mouse, some thought bear, some thought monkey, luckily Mommy has a lot of years of sewing ahead of her and the next one can only get better!

Parker and Joselyn walked hand-in-hand up and down two streets Trick-Or-Treating. It really didn't take them long to figure the whole thing out. They were especially excited about suckers or "suckies" because that was the only candy they ever saw again!

Big Boy Bed

After a full 20 months of life it was time to transition Parker from his crib to a Big Boy Daybed.
After coming into his room many times to see antics such as these:

Initially the project confused Parker a bit - I don't think he knew where "night night" would be later on...

But then he had some fun "jumping" on and off the mattress on the floor...

The project took much longer than expected when we realized that the movers had used the wrong bolts to put together the crib initially and we had to go through and check them all and move some to their correct places...But, when we were all done Parker was VERY excited about his new bed and got right in to play...

However, the prospect of him rolling out was enough for Mommy to run off to Walmart and purchase a bed rail. But, he still can climb in and out on his own and he loves his Big Boy Bed!

Football Fans

Yes, there are two sleeping children under those blankets. And they call themselves football fans?

Fun with Chalk

Parker loves to play with chalk in the front yard. Sometimes he gets a little messy!

He really wanted to color the pumpkin.

Even the dogs can't escape the chalk fun!

Lake Fun

Before the weather turned cold we were able to go out on the boat for a few more good days. Parker loves to get in the water with his Daddy and float around.

Unfortunately because of Parker's tubes in his ears he has to wear puddy in his ears and a headband to protect them in the water. He doesn't like the headband at all, but tolerates it to play in the water. Hopefully next summer we won't have to worry about it!

College Football Fun

Daddy's oldest friend Chris and his fiance Tracy came all the way from Oregon to Dallas to go to the University of Oregon vs. LSU game. It was Parker's first college football experience. We had a lot of fun at the game - even if Mommy and Daddy did feel like Beaver traitors for wearing Oregon shirts. To help us feel better Parker wore his Beaver's jersey.

Brew Master in Training

Parker's Daddy has become quite the Brew Master. And it is not unusual for Parker to see his Daddy managing some phase of beer brewing. He likes to investigate the process - someday he will be big enough to help.

Diaper Fun

Parker and his friend Joselyn often end up taking baths together because their parents are hanging out in the evening. Sometimes post-bath pajamas just seem unnecessary - and the kids agree!
