Here it is again, our Thankful Project. Never one to completely conform I am a few days late beginning, but I will be sure to catch up quick. Of course part of the delay was probably picturing Ma Pat all the way in Oregon thinking "where are the Thankful posts?" and enjoying her impatience...Now wait a minute, that is no way to start a Thankful Project, except that I can be Thankful for Ma Pat's sense of humor? Yes, that.
So, off we go!
On Day One I am thankful for our Family Dinners. When we moved to DC we started to actually use our dinner table for more than just Thanksgiving and Christmas! Most nights during the week we all sit together and have dinner. We get to talk about our day, visit, and just spend time together as a family. I can still remember when I was young and my family spent many evenings at the dinner table. I hope that Ben and I are able to offer some of those memories for our kids - especially the ones filled with so much laughter that someone might have milk coming out of their nose...
At our family dinners Riley shows us her new tricks like using a spoon to eat (some of) her dinner...before she switches to the hand method.
"Are you sure this isn't a comb?"
Parker gets to tell us all about his day at school and what he likes to play with. He also sometimes sings us the new songs he learns at school. The current favorite is a scarecrow song about farmers.
And after our dinner is all done we can sometimes have enough time before bath and bed that we can have some Toy Story adventures with Buzz, Woody, and Jessie.
