Parker had an action packed Easter with his friends!
He started off the weekend with an Easter Egg Hunt that was put on by the housing office here on post. They mark off a portion of a field and throw out eggs for the kids. The 0-3 year-olds went first. We stayed exactly long enough for Parker to fill his little bucket - there were some CRAZY people out there!
Sunday morning started with brunch with our good friends the Klatzkos! Josh specially requested Eggs Newport (our old family recipe) for Easter Brunch and I was happy to oblige - Josh then took all the leftovers home for his late night snack!
Our friends the Heebners had us all over for an Easter Potluck on Sunday afternoon. They even had a bouncy house! Parker was a little reluctant to get in at first, but warmed up to it eventually. Unfortunately a little while into the party the bouncy house tripped the breaker and started to deflate - Parker was outside the bouncy house when it started to go down and would NOT go in for the rest of the day! "Bouncy House Fall Down"! LOL...
Our friend Amy tried to convince us that where she is from in Texas it is a tradition to buy eggs filled with confetti. I think that it was just Amy's way of getting to smash eggs on people's heads. Parker and the little kids liked to throw the eggs on the ground and then step on the shells...the grownups had a lot of fun with other crazy egg smashing tricks!
The Daddys were put in charge of scattering the Easter eggs for the hunt later in the afternoon. Some of the Daddys were very well-behaved. Some Daddys "scattered" eggs by throwing them at other Daddys...we will give you one guess to what kind of Daddy Parker has.
Parker loved the egg hunting, he even found some of the really hidden eggs like in holes...
And on fences...
Parker loved opening all the eggs, but was super excited about all of the eggs with stickers in them - those we are saving for a long car ride in a few days...
Amy also had a pinata for the little kids. Parker loved to "hit the bunny", it was great excitement!
Parker really had a great time with all of his friends, we are so lucky to have so many great people in our lives here in Oklahoma. What a great Easter!
