Thankful - Day 11

How appropriate that Veteran's Day falls in the same month as the day to be Thankful. And of course into the Thankful project.
It is impossible to put into words the way that military familes - my family - feels on Veterans Day. On Memorial Day we all think about those who have lost their lives in service to their country, but on Veterans Day we honor not only the ones who we lost, but the ones who came home, and the ones who are still fighting...It is a day not only for remembering those we have lost, but truly a day to be Thankful for those who are still with us.
On this Veteran's Day we had our wonderful friends the Klatzko's in town and we took a trip to Arlington National Cemetary. I truly cannot get tired of this place, there is always something new to see and it is such a beautiful place.
From Fall 2012
We spent some time climbing at the ampitheature.

And we even saw the President drive by as he left the Veteran's Day Ceremony.

And Ben taught Parker about heroes, and the battle buddies he lost in Iraq.

From Fall 2012
As we said walked away Parker looked at me and said "Mommy, do you see all the heroes? They are everywhere." Yes, baby boy, they are.

So, on this Veteran's Day - and our Thankful Day 11 - I will share a quote about Ben's favorite word; Valor.

"Valor is stability, not of legs and arms, but of courage and the soul." -Michel de Montaigne
