We had many fun adventures to celebrate Halloween this year. Parker was able to wear his costume 3 different times - and not even Hurricane Sandy could slow us down!
First we headed to the National Zoo for their fundraising event: Boo at the Zoo!
We walked from tent to tent thoughout the zoo to pick up goodies!
At the bottom of the hill we were all excited and ready to go!
Photo stop with Mommy and Riley
Riley got to spend the evening cuddled in the baby bjorn. It wasn't too chilly and she was very happy hanging out with Mommy while big brother ran around like a crazy person.
Can you tell someone dipped into the candy bag a few times?
We had a really great time - and barely enough time in the evening to make it to all the tents - unfortunately the animals were mostly asleep, but it was a fun adventure anyway!
On Sunday our neighborhood got together for their annual Halloween parade. It starts at Parker's favorite park - the Fire Park - and continues around about 2 blocks - and back to the park for playing and treats!
Parker walked for about half of the parade - them wanted to get in the buggy with Riley.
The mounted police came to lead the parade - I think this is the closest Parker has ever been to a horse. He was pretty impressed - until the horse thought his hair was edible.
Enjoying the spoils from the goodies after the parade. He went into the little house at the park to eat his cupcake.
Off on a pirate adventure!
Finally, after a crazy couple of days enduring Hurricane Sandy and the short power outage she caused at our house, it was time for Trick-or-Treating!
Ma Pat helped Parker get all ready in his Pirate gear! With his special Jake sword from Pa Lar!
We hooked up with Parker's friends - Liam from next door and Ella from the Park - for some door-to-door fun!
It did not take the kids long to figure out how the whole thing works!
He came home with a big bag of loot and even got to eat a couple of pieces before bed.
I would say it was a very successful Halloween!
